What are the standard connections of a Quasi Dynamic Triaxial System (QDTAS)

All cables need to be connected with the devices turned off

POWER

The following devices will be connected to mains power via IEC cables:
Load Frame, ELDCS control unit, Cell Pressure Controller, Back Pressure controller

Communication

  1. Load Frame Connected to the ELDCS control unit via RJ11 grey cable connected from the CAN port on the back of the Load Frame, to the CAN port on the front of the ELDCS,

  2. Load Frame connected to the PC via USB cable,

  3. ELDCS Control Unit connected to the PC via USB cable,

  4. Smart Keypad connected to Back Pressure controller via grey RJ11 cable connected to the CAN port on both devices,

  5. Back Pressure controller connected to the PC via USB cable,

  6. Cell Pressure controller connected to the PC via USB cable,

Hydraulic/Pneumatic Connections

  1. Back Pressure controller Connected to the base of the triaxial cell, using 1/8'' pipe connected to one of the valves leading to the top cap,

  2. Cell Pressure Controller connected to the triaxial cell, using an 8mm pipe connected to a valve leading to the triaxial cell.

Transducers, (connected to the ELDCS control unit)

  1. Load Cell connected to channel 0

  2. Pore Pressure connected to channel 1

  3. Displacement Transducer connected to channel 2.
