Problem
When launching GDSLab, an error window appears indicating “Acquisition Device creation error”.
Solution
The problem arises when the system is having issues loading acquisition device drivers. The solution is to reinstall the drivers provided with the acquisition device (e.g. Serial Pad, AdvDCS V2).
In case of multiple drivers installed in the system, the “probable cause” stated in the error message can help in identifying which drivers are causing issues (see section below).
GDS_AdvCore
If the system cannot find the file named GDS_AdvCore, the issues are with AdvDCS V2 (Calamari) drivers. To solve the issue, follow these steps:
Unzip the latest driver files provided by GDS in a temporary folder anywhere in the system. The filename usually is in the form of:
CalamariDriver_Release_2.x.x.x.zip
Close GDSLab, if open. Double click on the file named DeployToPlugins.bat
Launch GDSLab. If the problem persists, continue to step 4.
Navigate to the following directory:
C:\GDSLab\Plug-Ins\AdvCore\
Launch the file named GDS_AdvCore.CleanRegistry.reg
Repeat steps 2 and 3.
If the problem persists after performing the steps above, contact GDS support at support@gdsinstruments.com.
