Connection issues with Pneumatic Controller

Connection issues with Pneumatic Controller

Problem

Pneumatic controller not responding to commands

Solution

Please perform all of the checks below if any connection issues occur while using a GDS Pneumatic controller connected to GDSLab V2.

  1. Check that the com port settings are correct (see below)

Baud: 4800  Parity: O  Data bits: 8  Stop bits: 2

  1. Check that the Com port number is correct (see helpsheet 169 for details)

  2. If a spare Com port is available then try to connect the controller using this Com port

  3. Ensure that the English version of windows is installed, other version will not work with the pneumatic controller

  4. Ensure the cables are securely connected to the back of the pneumatic controller (including both the power cable and the RS232 cable)

  5. Ensure that when targeting a pressure that there is sufficient input pressure applied to the controller to allow the targeted pressure to be met

  6. Ensure that the correct full scale output (10000mV) and sensitivity (see calibration certificate) are entered into the object display
